This is pretty close to Yuriko's final design, shown here in her scuba gear. I've been trying to think of a catchier spy name for her though. The best one I have so far is Kim 60. Any thoughts or ideas?

These are a few panoramic backgrounds I painted. It was a big undertaking since they had to be HD quality and fully layered.







Here's some shots of the stadium for the end sequence. At first I was very nervous about painting the "Bird's Nest" stadium because it looks so complex, but these shots were actually a lot of fun to work on. I did these in a big rush at the very end of the project so they are not as finely detailed as some of my earlier backgrounds, but I enjoyed finding a way to abbreviate some of the detail with my brush strokes.

I'm so excited that the project I was working on in London has finally debuted, and to see the awesome response it's been getting! You have probably already seen it on some other blog by now, but I wanted to post it on my site too. This spot for the Olympics was directed by Jamie Hewlett, and the animation was directed by the phenomenal Pete Candeland and Robert Valley. The first thing I did when I was brought on the project was design the color script, and then myself and Lukasz Pazera designed and painted all of the backgrounds. Pete was a terrific director to work with and I can't speak highly enough of the team at Passion and what a great time I had working on this project. I would love to show some of my paintings, but for now I think you should just watch the spot and enjoy. There is a site called No Fat Clips that has posted an awesome high-res version which I've linked to:

Man I am so stoked for Comic-Con! It's always fun to hang out with my friends and get inspired by all the cool projects people are working on. Here's some of the stuff I'm gonna have for sale at the Fleet Street booth - Table F-9 - right next to Goblin Fish Press. Above is a t-shirt I designed which just came in on Wednesday! This is the first time Chris and I have tried printing t-shirts, so I really hope people like them.

I've already posted about these prints before, but they just came in the mail from the screenprinter recently and they look different from what I showed previously. I ended up changing the colors around to suit this cool paper and I'm pretty stoked about how they turned out. The light color is a metallic ink and it looks pretty wicked. The photos below will give you an idea of how the ink sits on the paper.





Oh yeah, I also spent all last weekend re-designing the Fleet Street website. Our old site just wasn't versatile enough and the design had gotten a bit stale, so I tore it down and made this new one. Go take a look and let us know what you think in the comments!

This is one of the Comic-Con exclusive mini-prints we're gonna have at our table this year. It was actually a way for me to test out some techniques for a new project I am developing based around this secret agent girl. I decided when I made this new site that I want to post more of my "in progress" work, and not keep everything so secret. So expect to see more about "Agent Y" or "Secret Agent Yuriko" or whatever her name will be soon.

Also, here's another mini-print we'll be selling exclusively at Comic-Con. It's actually a remix of a "Hansel & Gretel" piece I did for my Pixar internship last summer. I'm getting less shy about reusing and referencing my old concepts, because I've noticed that I only have a few original ideas that I reuse over and over anyway.

A while back I was really honored to be invited by Dice Tsutsumi to participate in a charity event to benefit Totoro's forest. I was worried for a bit that I wouldn't be able to finish my piece due to my unexpected trip to London, but luckily I got it done just in time. I imagined my Totoro as a giant cat that wanders around the Southern California coast looking for tasty fish. Check out the official site for the project here - totoroforestproject.org.
