The final step was adding a glow. Normally I don't use these types of effects, but in this case I really thought it helped the image feel a bit more magical. To create the effect I duplicated the entire image onto a new layer, applied a Gaussian Blur, and set the blend mode to Lighten. Then using a mask I erased the unnecessary bits of glow.
