I'm continuing to make a lot of headway on Yuki. For those of you wondering where exactly I'm going with this project, I'm putting together a poster book/gallery show that will happen in the middle of next year. I'm also collaborating with my enormously talented friend Stephane to produce a fake trailer for "A Kiss From Tokyo". The lobby cards above are stills made from artwork I'm creating for the trailer. ALSO, prints of all four English-edition Yuki 7 posters are now available on Fleet Street! Check them out:
Speaking of Stephane, here is a glimpse at another project I got the chance to collaborate with him on earlier in the year. This is the title sequence for a pilot that Pete Candeland directed at Cartoon Network Europe called "The Amazing Adventures of Kid Cole & Klay". I painted a number of very quick and rough background plates for this, but spent the most time on the opening sequence with the monsters attacking the city and the episode title card at the very end. Unfortunately we can't show anything from the actual pilot which is a shame because it's one of the wittiest and most cinematically entertaining TV cartoons I've ever seen. I'm still hoping CN will pick the show up one day. It was a really fun time working on this, and I look forward to hopefully working with all these people again.
Oh, and about APE - we had a great time up in San Francisco despite all the rain and Halloween madness. As always we met tons of neat people and enjoyed chatting with our customers. Thanks to everyone who made that convention a success! I don't have enough time or photos to do a full report, so you should check out these con reports here, here, and here.
